New Read---Soulless

Ok, so I have been competing with my friend by reading a long list of books within the year. I've started a few, but I have finally completed one. I bought this book the other day and it was FANTASTIC! I love Jane Austen and I like to read sci-fi books as my cheap thrill and this book combined it all. Soulless by Gail Carriger is an excellent new series. If you are looking for a quick read, this book is delightful. It took me a day to read, although it is simply written it is fast-paced and the storyline is worth  reading. This is a new author and a totally different genre than I am used to.  If you love old England, the supernatural, and quick humor, it is a must.  I am definetly recommending this book to my friends. This book put me in an excellent mood. Four stars, bravo!

Reading Challenge

I recently started to compete in a contest against my friends. We are doing a serial reader contest here.  Anyways we will be reading and reviewing over 21 books over the next year. It will be fun for us to do, although I don't know if it will be much fun to read about;) I haven't decided if I'm going to post the reviews here or on the other blog. I'll figure it out on the way. I think that we are up to the challenge, are you? If you are one of those peole that has a bunch of books that are TBR and you haven't had the time or motivation to start shrinking the pile, now is the time to start. It's a new year. Start the New Year off right and tie up loose ends:) The rules are simple and you can change it up to a challenge that is befitting to your character.

Fire

I am totally excited about the 2nd book in the Graceling series. It is a different story but same world:) I am totally psyched. I finished the 1st a book a few days ago. I am a poor college student, so I have been waiting patiently for the paperback version of this book. Anywho, the second book is available next month on October 5, 2009.
